At the entrance gate of the Cheyenne, Wyoming VA Medical
Center stands this startling sign . . .

Veterans who paid that price are on these grounds and in
this place . . . and in 171 other VA Medical Centers throughout
this nation. For many of them, life just stands still .
. .
The Veterans Fund supports programs that assist thousands
of these veterans with mental, physical, and emotional recovery,
and that give them hope
and encouragement
and the thrill of being remembered
and a sense of being cared about
and a better life.
An old legend says that someone once asked a fallen Angel
what he missed most about Heaven. "Oh," he said,
"what I miss most is the joy of hearing the trumpets
in the morning!"
It's been a long time since some of our hospitalized veterans
heard trumpets in the morning.
The Veterans Fund helps bring back the joy
. . .

and volunteer groups
by a call to action that emphasizes "Every Veteran…Every Day,"
and providing therapeutic, life-enhancing entertainment
programs, CD's, DVD's, tapes, creative arts packages, books, and inspirational
