In 1983, the USO discontinued its national program of live entertainment for America's VA Medical Centers.
The Department of Veterans Affairs asked Re-Creation, USA to put that program back together for our veterans.
And an incredible service began! A service that was expanded in 2002 to include America's State Veterans Homes!
Every year Re-Creation presents live, Broadway-style entertainment for institutionalized veterans.
And in addition to the show . . .
young, talented cast members visit in rooms and wards and take a personal message of gratitude and hope to individual veteran patients.
Re-Creation is non-profit, and depends on help from many sources to continue its caring and uplifting program.
The Veterans Fund, working to make life better for institutionalized veterans, is a proud sponsor of this unique organization.
